16-strand braided ropes are made of 100% high-tenacity polyester yarns, providing excellent resistance to weather conditions as well as excellent UV resistance. The distinguishing properties of polyester ropes are their abrasion resistance and high breaking load. Compared to polyamide ropes, polyester ropes are softer and more flexible in wet conditions. Under load, elongation is approximately 20%.
Polyester ropes are widely used as auxiliary ropes in marine applications, cargo handling, fishing and construction work. 16-strand polyester ropes are widely used as auxiliary ropes in water sports.
